Hey I'm Ariel 👋🏼, making stuff for the web with love and tech.

I'm a mostly self taught logo youtube developer. My background is in the food industry. I owned and operated food kiosks in parks and food halls in New York City. I've employed nearly 100 employees, several million in sales, and had the opportunity to almost appear on Shark Tank.

I know, Sharktank, what happened? Before I get there, I just wanted to continue introducing myself. I'm a dad of two, a dog owner, and I enjoy tinkering with electronics. I'm an avid learner, I love the Frontend, and I'm finally going to learn CSS for real this time in 2021.

When I was brainstorming what I wanted for a portfolio website, I knew I wanted something that would showcase my skills but, most importantly, I wanted it to be a living timeline of sorts. A place for me to build, document, and share my interest. I'm not even close, but I'm happy with what I've made so far.

Sharktank

I want to start by staying; I'm not bitter, and I would have turned down everyone's offer anyway. The shows' talent team approached us. We thought it over (that's a lie) and decided, "why not". The process of just applying was arduous. They needed to know everything (understandable). After a few reference checks, making sure the business was on the up and up, we moved on to phone interviews and aced them. We were then moved on to the "final round," we had to film our own "into video," where we would introduce ourselves and our business. After several iterations (for them), the talent team OKed our video, and it was passed on to the show's producers. They (producers) loved our business but not us. They said we weren't exciting enough and weren't a good fit for the show. I haven't seen an episode since.
